Obrador de Moviments took part in an international Erasmus+ multidisciplinary project combining dance, music, voice, and film (Visions of the Future). This international exchange program took place from August 19 to 27, 2024, bringing together young artists from Spain, Portugal, France, and Germany at Kilombo Kleinow, in Brandenburg. It was a wonderful and moving experience in which young participants from Berlin, Barcelona, Paris, and Leiria were able to express themselves and reflect through creative processes on their visions of the future in Europe.
The participants shared their life experiences across Europe, got to know one another, and collaborated in a creative process. During the exchange, a film and a stage piece were created, exploring utopian and dystopian visions of the future through dance, music, and cinema.
It was beautiful to witness and reaffirm that dance and movement are a universal language that unites, connects, and transforms.
We have no words to describe all that we take away from this experience.
We hope you enjoy the video as much as we enjoyed living this journey!
Echoes of the Earth
A dance film born from collaboration, creativity, and connection. Echoes of the Earth is the result of the Erasmus+ project Visions of the Future, funded by the European Union. Over two weeks in August, young dancers from Portugal, Spain, France, and Germany gathered at Kilombo Kleinow, a peaceful setting in the Uckermark region of Germany, to embark on a unique artistic journey.
This project was carried out by Capoeira Angola e.V. – Kilombo Kleinow (Germany) under the direction of Susy Oesterreicher, in collaboration with UMtanz e.V. (Germany), L’Obrador – Center for Body Movement and Dance (Spain), Compagnie La Ravi (France), and Companhia CORPO (Portugal). United by the shared language of movement, music, and text, these young artists explored themes of human connection and visions of the future through the powerful medium of dance.
Directed by choreographer Yeri Anarika and inspired by Olga Ravn’s novel The Employees, the film interweaves choreography, voice, and music in a deeply collaborative process. The dancers worked closely with an international team of artists, including Rute Vitorino (Portugal), Sara Sanguino and Hervé Costa (Spain), and Bérengère Altieri-Leca and Jean-Luc Priano (France).
Under the artistic direction of Yeri Anarika and brought to the screen by Baldemar Bottini, Echoes of the Earth captures the emotional and physical energy of this unique exchange. The result is a deeply moving piece that transcends borders, merging the diverse cultures and perspectives of its participants into a shared artistic vision.
Featuring original performances by talented young dancers, the film illustrates how the universal language of dance can unite people from different countries, backgrounds, and traditions.
Accompanied by music from Tolga Fidan (Dotdat) and Joji Hirota & Peter Lockett (Ghost Chase), the film’s soundscape reflects the dancers’ movements, creating a powerful synergy between sound, body, and emotion.
