SUN RISES SUN SETS
On May 31st, we had the privilege of hosting Gary Hoffman Soto at our space as part of the MIRADOR series. Soto generously shared his knowledge, the result of a lifetime dedicated to the arts of movement and somatic practices.
The workshop was a profound and inspiring experience, where we could explore movement from an essential and authentic place, through exercises that combined body awareness, improvisation, and somatic work.
The day culminated with a live presentation of the piece “Sun Rises Sun Sets”, a truly special moment for its honesty and expressiveness. Seeing the body of an eighty-year-old artist in motion was fascinating and deeply inspiring: a living demonstration of the wisdom, sensitivity, and freedom that the body in movement can achieve over time.
We feel very grateful for everything Soto shared with us — his knowledge, his presence, and his humanity — and for the experience shared with everyone who participated.
