Open Call

Obrador de Moviments is opening a call for choreographic artists, both emerging and established, whose practice places the body at its core. Mirador is a cycle that offers a space to showcase the artist and their creation through closeness and exchange. The aim of Mirador is to create new bonds between artists and audiences by offering a direct and tangible experience of the creative process. We transform the space by bringing the dancer/creator closer to the audience, so art can be experienced in a physical and immersive way.

Each MIRADOR cycle takes place over a single day and combines three essential and complementary moments to connect audience and artist:

· PARTICIPATORY WORKSHOP: A one-hour workshop open to all audiences, held before the performance. The workshop should give the audience access to delve into the artist’s creative process and universe. The goal of experiencing the workshop is to transform not only the gaze with which the piece is later observed, but also the way the body integrates, perceives and resonates with it.

· PERFORMANCE OF THE PIECE: A live showing of the choreographic proposal, which can be a finished work or a work in progress, lasting between 20 minutes and 1 hour. The aim is to create closeness between artist and audience, both spatially and physically.

· DISCUSSION: After the performance, an open space for dialogue between artist(s) and audience to share impressions, questions and experiences.

This call is open to choreographic artists, individuals or collectives, both emerging and established, whose practice places the body at the center. We are looking for original and personal proposals, which may be finished pieces or works in progress, and which invite audiences to experience creation in an active and intimate way.

Send a single email with the subject:: “Convocatoria MIRADOR – [Name of the piece]” to: info@obradordemoviments.com

· Workshops and presentations: During the 25/26 season, the cycle will include a total of 4 editions. In each edition, one selected artist will present their proposal.

A total of 4 proposals will be selected for the 25/26 season. Obrador de Moviments will provide basic technical support and 32 hours of rehearsal in the space where the presentation will take place.

All funds collected during the presentation, through a pay-what-you-want ticketing system, will go entirely to the selected artist or collective.

In addition, Obrador will promote and give visibility to the selected pieces through its communication channels.

We are looking for proposals that help to highlight contemporary creation in the movement arts, that fit the means and context of Mirador, and that offer a workshop and performance accessible to all kinds of audiences. We especially value those that spark curiosity and invite audiences to empathize and reflect.
